Since 2013, the Fencers Club Veterans On Guard Military Fencing Program has served more than 250 Veterans and Active Duty personnel throughout the NYC Metro area. In partnership with the U.S. Olympic Committee, U.S. Paralympics and the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs, we provide a comprehensive fencing program to Veterans, including training, uniforms and equipment, and competition opportunities--all free of charge.
Thanks to you, Fencers Club has been able to serve more Fencers Club Veterans on Guard Program. Your support and belief in our cause keeps us going strong.
We're launching a new campaign to Support Military Veterans in our community, and it would be great if you were a part of it.
We are asking a few of our key fencers to rally their friends, family, and networks to support the Fencers Club Veterans on Guard Program. By becoming a fundraiser, you will help more Fencers Club provide more opportunities for military Veteran fencing throughout the New York, and you'll help your friends feel good about doing good. 100% of the proceeds of this campaign will go directly to supporting our Veterans On Guard Program.
Participating in our fundraiser is easy to do, and it's fun! We'll even give you all the tools you'll need to make a difference. With your help, we can further our goal of promoting physical fitness and emotional well-being in the active duty and honorably discharged Military Veteran population in NYC and beyond!
Please visit Fencers Club's Veterans On Guard Military Fencing Program page for more information about this unique program.
This will be a team competition event. There will be 8 teams with 3 fencers on each. The 3 fencers on each team will consist of 1 team captain from our elite Fencers Club epee fencers including previous and current World Team members, 1 veteran epee fencer (ages 40+), and 1 Military Veteran epee fencer from our Military Veterans On Guard Program.
We will start from a tableau of 8 and have a repechage fence-off for each place. This will give everyone an equal chance to fence and compete in the same number of bouts in a friendly, yet heated, team competition. This will give our Military Veterans exposure to an official team competition format, to fence and be coached by world-class and highly experienced fencers, and a fun way to spend Veterans Day!
